About Posting Anonymously
Thank you for choosing to post your story at ReconcilingStories.org! We’re very excited to learn about your personal journey. Here are just a few notes about the anonymous posting process:
- We review all submissions before posting them. Please, no offensive or lewd content. We reserve the right to edit posts if necessary. Please allow up to 24 hours for your post to appear. If you have questions, please e-mail us.
- By posting, you agree to the submission guidelines (also reprinted below).
- If you want to be truly anonymous, we recommend changing any names of people and places in your story. In such cases you should note that names have been changed at the beginning of your story.
- If you don’t mind some details about you to be public, you can include them in your post. For example, you might begin your story with “Hi, my name is Ted.”
- If you later create a profile here at ReconcilingStories.org, please let us know if you’d like to link your original story to your profile.
Can I decide to create a profile after I’ve posted my story?
Of course! After you have submitted your post, you’ll notice that you are logged in to the site as “Anonymous Contributor X,” where X is some number. At this point you can log out, or you can update your profile if you’ve changed your mind about remaining anonymous. With a profile, you’ll be able to edit your story, provide a contact e-mail, etc.
If you do update your profile, remember to change your password, since the Anonymous Contributor password was created randomly for you. You will need to also provide an e-mail address; feel free to create one at hotmail or some other free e-mail service if you want to remain (mostly) anonymous. After you have updated your profile with as many details as you’d like to provide, you’ll want to contact us to have your user name changed to something more appropriate.
OK, I’m ready; get me started!
